Aluminum Head Valve Adjustment

I have installed a Denis Welch aluminum head on my BN 2 and am very
happy with it except for the excessive valve train noise.  I have been
setting the valve adjustment to the factory specified .012 cold.  What
is the experience from those of you running an aluminum head?  What do
you recommend for valve clearance- hot or cold?
