If the throttle switch is adjusted and working properly, there will be no
significant jolt when coming out of overdrive on deceleration. The switch
keeps the overdrive engaged until the throttle is blipped, thereby making a
smooth downshift. No need to use the clutch.
If the OD lockout switch on the gearbox is working properly, no damage will
be done by leaving the OD switch on all the time. The only problem there is
the big space between 2nd direct and 3rd OD...kinda lugs the engine down
when accelerating through the gears.
