A few of questions for the collective. I have a 56 BN2 that I want to make
some of the M modifications to. Such as the Carbs, Airbox, etc. The engine
was rebuilt recently (about 1000 miles ago) while in possessions of the
previous
owner. The question came up about what is the difference between the 1 3/4
SU Carbs that were used on Triumphs and those used on the 100 M's. I have NO
idea!! In fact the previous owner said he had installed rebuilt H 6 SU carbs.
Are those the 100 M version? How does one tell? Also what is the difference
between the stock intake manifold and the one for the 100 M? Again, no clue
from me. Any help welcome. Lastly I seem to remember a recent thread about
the benefits or lack thereof of installing the 100 M cam without the 100 M
pistons. Can anyone give me a short recap? The previous owner also installed
a
"New" distributor (standard points and condenser). Do I need to change that to
the distributor for the 100 M? What are the advantages, disadvantages? The
car runs good with no overheating or complaint. I would just like a little
more kick and I like the looks of the 100 M mods.
My humble thanks!! Gary
