Arghhhhhh....
I can hardly believe it....
1. After my engine rebuild (have 3k miles on it) I did not get a good seal
on the timing cover seal around the crank.. So when I took out the engine
for the total resto I had the pulley machined, a sleeve put on and a new
seal added... but it still leaks... just sitting there!!! .... I am now
readying myself to remove the radiator.. and attack this again again...any
ideas?????
2. After my new wiring harness.... during first powerup I found a shorted
tail light .. which I thought did no damage but I find it has fried my
entire wiring harness... new harness time ... no ideas needed here.....
S*&t .. I am not even imaging the amount of stuff I have to remove to put
this in!!!
3. After sending my master cylinder out for resleeve and rebuild.. it of
course leaks.... off come the carbs (again) to remove the master and put new
seals in ..
4. I find that for some reason the Smitty conversion gives me a point on the
clutch pedal pressure that gives additional pressure... i.e., push down
smootly... then it get momentarily more pressure then goes to smooth
pressure again... also there is sooo little room between the bellhousing
and the clutch slave bleed screw I can not even reach it... (Maybe I need a
different slave cylinder ,,???) soo unless I can figure out something on
this I am going to pull the trans out and see what the deal is... I am
contemplating going back to my healey trans ...
so I am considering removing the engine/trans and testing everything before
I put the engine in..
On the bright side.... I got my new mini out of storage yesterday (now that
the snow is gone) and am going to enjoy it for a while... and into the
corner the healey goes for a while.... at least until the new harness comes
and maybe until I get some enthusiasm ... gee.. maybe British Wiring will
give me a break on a quantity discount.???
