No welding is required. The GT6 input needs to be cut to the same length as=
the Spit. Then the splines need to be machined back to match the length of=
the Spit as well and you are good to go. It's really quite simple. Don't f=
orget to use my steel/carbon synchro's for the most pleasant shifting exper=

When I had this done some years ago, I took the job to a local racer-transm=
ission guy.=C2=A0 After fiddling with it a bit, he just put the Spitfire in=
put shaft into the GT6 trans and it worked fine.=C2=A0 GT6 gearbox for my S=
pit racer, no cutting, welding, etc. required.=C2=A0 It worked great for a =
few seasons until I pulled it to install an overdrive trans.

s of gear constructions and maybe I just happened to bring him two that mat=

the Spitfire on the GT6 transmission.
