FWIW, the Moldex crank I bought back back in the early 2000's has 
counterweights that foul the webbing in the block as well. I talked to 
Ken Gilanders about it, he said that is what you want, use an angle 
grinder to make notches in the block for clearance. I think you need to 
grind two, maybe three webs.

It is much easier if you remember to do that before you take the block 
to the machine shop and get it cleaned!
