I've always heard that if you have a balance tube between front and rea=
r carb that you want to run in 1 and 4 so you can better isolate which car=
b you want to adjust. I have mine in 1 and 4 but run webers so no balance t=
ube.=C2=A0 I see up to 1450 F at the end of long straights.=C2=A0 Much more=
than that and I start to transfer aluminum from the piston to the cylinder=
walls.=C2=A0 I think there's some variation in temp readings between diffe=
rent probes and gauges, I don't know what the accuracy really is. It's a gr=
eat troubleshooting tool when the car starts to run like crap.=C2=A0 Anothe=
r helpful tools is a fuel pressure gauge (with isolator so you don't pipe g=
as into the passenger compartment).=C2=A0 Pressure too high overruns the fl=
oats.=C2=A0 To low and you've got something funny with the feed like a regu=
lator / pump going bad or you forgot to put gas in the car.
