Amici =E2=80=93 Short version =E2=80=93 I heartily endorse =
Jeremy=E2=80=99s nomination to our group.
Long version =E2=80=93 I first met Jeremy in May 2015 when I was =
attending the Kastner Cup at Summit Point. The Alexanders had arranged a =
tour of the Udvar-Hazy Center =E2=80=93 Smithson National Air and Space =
Museum in Washington and had very generously invited me to tag along =
with them. What a thrill, what a phenomenal resource, a real national =
treasure especially for a visiting Canadian to experience. The =
Alexanders had arranged for Jeremy to be our tour guide and for over 2 =
hours he enthusiastically shepherd us through the Center and the =
accompanying restoration complex. I especially remember his patience in =
answering my continual stream of questions, where his answers clearly =
demonstrated the depth of knowledge and commitment to preserving the =
history of an exceedingly significant component of American history. I =
have this really neat picture of Jeremy and I on the walkway overlooking =
the display of the front fuselage of the Enola Gay. It was one of those =
moments.
Based on the short time that I spent with him it was obvious that Jeremy =
has a deep interest in and knowledge of motorsport in general and racing =
Triumphs in particular so, yes I heartily endorse his nomination to this =
group.

Jeremy Kinney has had a lifelong passion for Triumph sports cars. One of =
his earliest memories is when his parents took him and his brother to =
the park in the family car, a =E2=80=9864 TR4, with their tricycles =
strapped to the luggage rack. Between his father and his brother, they =
still have the TR4 and have added a =E2=80=9965 Spitfire, =E2=80=9966 =
TR4A, =E2=80=9971 GT6, and an =E2=80=9980 Spitfire.
=20
A trained historian, Jeremy is writing a history of sports cars and =
American culture. So far, he has published two articles, =E2=80=9CRacing =
on Runways: The Strategic Air Command and Sports Car Racing in the =
1950s=E2=80=9D and =E2=80=9CSports Car Paradise: Racing in Los =
Angeles,=E2=80=9D and presented his work at the Sorbonne, the =
International Motor Racing Research Center, the Smithsonian, and various =
universities. While Triumphs and British sports cars are of particular =
interest, Jeremy also plans to explore the American, Italian, German, =
and Japanese dimensions of sports car history in his book.
