There are tools to hold the flywheel without damaging it.
I remember LISLE stuff: effective and costing little (10 or 20). I have one
and it works well!

Just be careful when bracing the flywheel, maybe try a piece of wood as the
flywheel can be damaged easily.
Someone helping you on the other end couldn't hurt.
