When the car count around here hit 20 and I told my wife we needed an Edsel
wagon to tow the Group 44 GT6 around, she gently suggested (okay, perhaps
it was less than gentle) that if I wanted to buy anything else, I need to
clean up around here.
To that end, I have thrown a Spitfire race car project on eBay, along with
the beginnings of a Spit Six project.
Next to go on eBay, if none of you want it...
I also have our original Grassroots Motorsports 1500 Spitfire project car
(Cover July 92 issue). It is a little worse for wear, but a Chimney Rock Hill
climb, VTR national convention Solo I and SCCA Solo II Nats veteran. $1200
buys it with another 1500 parts car with everything needed. Includes JK
Jackson built DSP legal engine, twin Weber DCOE 40s, Steve Eckerich limited
slip
dif, GT6 brakes and spindles, comp springs, roll bar, rebuilt trans, etc.
etc.
Also have a good 1.6 liter Miata engine if anyone wants to attempt a crazy
swap. Engine has 60,000 miles on it and can be had for $500 obo.
Also, we plan on bringing the Group 44 GT6+ to Sebring HSR event to lead
the British car crowd around the track at lunch on Saturday.
