I am getting together an order of camshafts for the TR3/4. I now have 4
different grinds, including a high performance street cam and three
different racing cams. Complete specs along with those of other TR3/4
cams are listed at my website (link below). If you think you might need
one of these within the next few months, you should get in on this group
order. I have purchased a small batch of new chilled cast iron blanks,
so I can grind the cam on a new blank or regrind a stock cam. The
advantage of using a new blank is that the diameter of front half will
be about 1/8 inch larger, i.e. stiffer and stronger.
I believe I have finally found a grinder that does a good job at a
reasonable price. He has some of the best CNC equipment available. CNC
is nice because I can do a new grind without the up front cost to make a
master.
I've also got my Cam Doctor up and running and have now profiled a
number of TR3/4 racing cams. I would like to profile some of the
Kastner cams, because 0.050 numbers are not available for them. I also
plan to start profiling cams for the 6 cylinder motors, e.g. TR5 cam.
If you would like to loan me some interesting cams for profiling, please
let me know. I will gladly share any information I get.
