Yes, there are a mix of cars (even a Modified!). Hillclimbs have
never been about "just vintage cars", so if you go to a hillclimb
expecting just a particular group of cars, you will be disappointed.
However, that is not the allure of hillclimbs. Like drag racing and
autoX, it is the variety of cars that makes it fun and interesting.
I've seen ex-NASCAR, ex-F1, go-carts and specials on steroids, in
addition to the more easily identified vehicles based on production cars.
Hillclimbs do not make great spectator events, and are more oriented
towards drivers. I highly recommend them.
I wonder if they ever have hillclimbs up Sandia Peak in ABQ?
