The 2007 Down under annual All Triumph was run and won in late June at the
same venue as last year . Two hours drive south of Sydney is Goulburn's
Wakefield Park Raceway which was again the venue for the annual All British
Race meeting which included two all Triumph races on the program .
Interstate entries of Triumphs had come from Queensland , Victoria and South
Australia
Ninteen Triumphs entered, dominated by 6 Dollomites including one very quick
turbo charged Dolly ; 3 TR8 ; 3 TR7; 2 TR6 ; 2 SEDANS ; 2 GT6 and the first
appearance of the Factory all aluminium body racing Spitfire which was
campaigned by Brian Sampson for the factory in the AMI Racing Team .
As soon as the cars commenced practice it was obvious that the TR8s and the
turbo Dolly would dominated the front of the field
This year the race was sponsored by Sports Car Spares and the Pitstop Bookshop
with over a $1200 in prize money and vouchers up for grabs .
Pole setter Gary Angel in the 4.4L TR8 convertible took the lead from the
first corner and was not headed to achieve a comfortable win from the 4.6L TR8
of Jeff Wards second from the turbo Dolly of Mark Morsillo third. One GT6 did
not start. 18 Triumphs stared and all finished . A video is being produced of
the race and plans are already in place for next years race with more entries
