If it's any help, I have a Baldwin document that lists bypass valves (and
other specs) for their line of oil filters. The "normal" valve opens at
8-10 psi (according to the manual); but they also have filters with "low"
(2-7 psi), "medium" (11-17 psi), "high" (18-25 psi), "super high" (30-45
psi), and "Extra high" (50psi+) bypass valves. Plus of course many with no
bypass at all.

has listing for other types of filters, including round and panel air
filters.
