I found that the piston clearances that Wiesco specifies are too tight and
have had problems with pistons trying to fuse to the cylinder walls. Twice I
had steel imbedded in the skirt, which would put big gouges in the cylinder
wall. Identical gouges 2 years in a row. The first time we figured it may
have been some debris that lodged in the wall, but when I had the identical
problem after running the car in the garage at the beginning of the next year
we knew it had to be the pistons growing more than Wiesco thinks they will. I
have had to go at least 1/2 1000th more clearance than they specify and that
