Seems better than normal to me. Most times on the grid I don't start my
engine until an estimated two minutes after the five minute warning to
ensure I don't go above 230 before moving off the grid.

Subject: Fast Warm Up

Hello:

I have a new engine installed in my TR-4, 11 to 1 compression, race cam,
stock SU carbs, stock radiator, no fan. Timing is set for 10 degrees BTDC
and the car idles nicely at 1000 rpm. Question: with the car idling at
1000 rpm in the garage and after initial startup, in eight to nine minutes
the water temp reachs 200 degrees F. Would this be considered normal? If
not, what is a normal warmup timeframe and temp? Thanks.

Gary
