There is a good reason why they call those planes with the V tail "split
tail doctor killers".

Subject: story
btw... my patient the x15 pilot... We were talking of stuff and just "chit
chatting" together with his wife this past friday afternoon.
I told him how I live really close to the hospital and how my wife has
hackney horses ... carriages and things. so, he tells me he knows about
the
hackney horses.. I commented that it is unusual for people to know about
them.
He said that he used to be a 1/4 horse jockey near mansfield,Ohio. So, I
said that is just a stones throw from lexington Ohio where the Mid Ohio race
track is ..... "Oh yea" he says. "I watched that place grow up" . any
ways I said that our Triumph race car group raced there not long ago.
"Raced?" he comments. "a Triumph TR4'' I mention.
then he says. "I always wanted to be a race car driver". I reply, " I
always
wanted to be a pilot". He says "drs. don't make good pilots but, pilots
make good race car dirvers." --end of story.
Funny thing is that's exactly what Mike Rothschild told me after I told him
I was taking lessons in a cessna 152. I took Mikes advice to heart and
discontinued.
