We are conducting a survey to find out if the level of interest among
FOTers in a possible race and rally driver training school in Lebanon. The
experience offers an opportunity to experience sedan driving as you can only
imagine in the US highways and streets. You absolutely will need to have a
comprehensive physical before be allowed to take this school.
The driving experience begins with learning Lebanese car horn
language. It is particularly important to know this langauge when using the
imaginary
third and fourth lanes.Once you have a firm knowledge of the car horn
langauge, then we can begin your basic Lebanse driving training.
After being retrained to understand that stop signs are to be ignored
and the army/police road checks are area where you need to definitely slow
down, you will be ready to start your behind the wheel experience. You need
also
understand that police do not mean that they are there to control traffic.
Here is the basic driving training program.
1. Driving your car though very narrow streets
2. Negotiating passage down a narrow one way street in the wrong
direction.
3. Negotiating your car through city intersection with no traffic
control
4. Negotiating your car across highways with no traffic control (This
involves blocking traffic with your vehicle)
5. Using the imaginary third lane going uphill on straight away
6. Using the imaginary third lane going downhill on the straight away
7. Using the imaginary third lane to overtake going downhill turn
8. Using the imaginary third lane to overtake going uphill turn
9. Using the imaginary third land to overtake on a totally blind
downhill turn
10. Using the imaginary third lane to overtake on a totally blind
uphill turn
11. Experiencing four wheel drift in the imaginary third lane when
overtaking two other side by side vehicles on a totally blind uphill turn.
12. Experiencing four wheel drift in the imaginary third lane when
overtaking two other side by side vehicles on a unexpectedly wet, totally blind
uphill turn.
13. Experience four wheel drift in the imaginary fourth land when over
taking three other side by side vehicles on a totally blind uphill turn.
14. At that point, you are ready to go to phase two of the training
program: driving in the Lebanese mountains.
If at each level 1 - 13 in the driver training, when your co-driver
(wife) suggests that you seem to be enjoying the driving experience too much,
you are ready to graduate to the next level. At stage fourteen, just smile.
