Anyone that is not interested in autox'ing thier Triumph can probably skip
this message. But you might want to scan this message if you know folks
that do autox thier Triumphs...
There's a minor scheduling quandry for early August up here in the
northeast, and I'd like to try to nail something down sooner rather than
later.
It turns out that there is a conflict on the weekend of the 9th - 11th of
August. The conflict is the Northeast SCCA SOlo II Divisionals and the TRF
summer party.
Now, what I had hoped was going to occur seems to have not happened.
Originally the NE Divs were to have been at Griffis on the weekend prior,
but they are now to be held on the weekend of 10-11 August at Ft. Devens
in Ayer, MA.
SOoo. What I'd really like to know is: how many FOT's intend to haul over
to TRF for the Hillclimb this year? I ask because if a bunch of you folks
head there, I suppose I could skip the NEDivs in favor of driving with
other Triumphs (and other English wonders!) at TRF. The quandry for me is
"80 mile tow or 1000+ mile (two-way) tow. BTW, for those that know me, the
1000+ tow ain't going to happen with my current "hauler".
Here's the "kicker". Owing to a lot of factors that are totally outside of
my control, I've pretty much given up trying to organize an autocross at
the June SVRA Vintage GP at Mid-Ohio. My logic is that the feature of the
Vintage event is the road racing and that any ancillary activities will
detract from the main event. That being said, I still think it would be
nice to try to get a bunch of FOT autoxers together at _some_ event this
year to "celebrate" 50 years of TR Triumphs, but the question is: "which
event".
The logical choices are TRF Summer Party or VTR National. Both events are
fairly serious commitments for those of us with non-streetable race cars,
but it would be _really kool_ to get a bunch of us at the same venue at
the same time for some fun.
So - if you have any thoughts on the matter, please give me feedback.
