I agree with Justin. The new TR6 rims are much better than the old and
totally suitable for racing. I've been using them for 6 years...and check
them each season and not one crack yet. The Moss rim is even one better. The
weld bead design was done by Moss of Europe I was told, to spec. It is full
circumference.

The early TR6 rims should be avoided as the interrupted bead weld does crack-
initiate at the edge of each weld segment. The late TR6 weld bead is improved
and just fine if, like me, you use Hoosiers or Bluestreaks and drive my
drifting rather than point-and-shoot with sticky Yoko's or the like. In that
instance you are putting a lot more load the the center and I would check
them more often.

There have been at least five TR3/TR4 racers using TR6 rims I am aware of for
the last 8 or nine years....and we've never failed a center. Could it be the
pedigree of the used rim maybe? I mean we do have less rust and corrosion to
start generally. Seriously, could that be an affector to those back east who
have seen some problem with them?

My recommendation...buy new ones from Moss or Rimmer. Great rim...about $55
each as I recall. Otherwise save those Guiness empties..... the aluminum is
recyclable for 3 cents a pound. Probably have a set of Panasports in a season
at that rate. Smile!!
