the L series motor was more based on the U20 motor with the overhead cam de=
sign...they just use one chain instead of two...with a smoother rev .The 24=
0 engine and later was just another two cylinders added to a 4 cylinder blo=
ck design...there were also other motors Nissan used in Japanthat never mad=
e it to US or overseas=C2=A0 they had a V 8 version that was similar to the=
Mercedes that it had one timing chain in front. There wereso many differen=
ces that no one company could say you copied this from me...Japan or Nissan=
would buy licences for certain parts if they felt it was cheaper to do..ie=
..buying the fifth gearing for the roadster 5 speed..and that they used a N=
