The 3 point belts started with the 67 =C2=BD roadsters. Ahead of the federa=
l requirement which started in 1973. (same with the locking steering colum=
n). I=E2=80=99ve owned my 67 =C2=BD 2L since new, so I=E2=80=99m certain of=
this. The shoulder belt was anchored to the rear wheel well by a large chr=
omed bolt and hooked into the lap belt at the back of the buckle inside the=
webbing and was detachable. This arrangement might be a bit different for=
high windshield models.

To add my 2 bits here=E2=80=A6.
I had 3 points with my =E2=80=9969 2000. But the straps were rotten and the=
buckles were corroded. I got them re-chromed and new straps at Snake Oyl (=
www.ssnake-oyl.com). Wasn=E2=80=99t cheap, the total was on the order of $6=
00 a couple years ago.
If I was going to do this again, I would buy a nice after-market roll bar w=
ith a center bar. Put in a 5 point system with a rear facing stop light. Da=
vid Premo 67=E2=80=992000 is the ideal setup here. My guess is total would =
be on the order of a few bucks more, but much safer all around!
