If you have an Ohmmeter, check the resistance coming from the sending unit. If
it varies, it's probably okay. Then check the connections and work your way
back through the wiring harness.

Finally cleaned out the tank, had it boled, sealed and coated. You just
wouldnt believe what the gas B looked like when I took it out, painted and
reinstalled now the fuel guage perpetually reads exactly half full. the
float works smoothly, but it just does't register correctly. Please tell me
I don't need to buy a new fuel sender unit.
