I agree, I think the issue is that the VIN tags were removed. So if the state
sells them, they are just as guilty. Still a shame to crush them. They could
at least be movie cars. Or show cars or even museum pieces. Just don't
destroy them.

Why not auction them off and use the money to help support the court? Make
the new owner legalize the cars before taking possession. Only a laywer could
come up with destroying perfectly good cars.
