With the ignition on (elect to the distributor) check if there is elect
across the open points. Are the points adjusted? Are they really closing
all the way and opening when the dist turns? Check to see if there is
continuity across the points with the follower on a flat of the dist cam.
Don't wiggle or mess with the contacts when checking this...just let them
close from the spring pressure. Is the rotor installed and not damaged?
