Not an uncommon problem with the 5 speed tranny, unfortunately. The 311s.org
website probably has a write-up about this. The common solution seems to be
welding the 5th gear when rebuilding. You may have to run in 4th gear till you
get home, then deal with it there. Good luck, Dewey
