I have an older Alpine DIN sized CD deck mounted sideways in my "70 1600.
Required a wee bit of trimming one of the bottom corners of the radio's
plastic, but not much. Fits great, works fine, looks custom. Sony
Playstations are mounted vertically lots of the time and play the game disks
sideways. I'll try to take a picture soon and post the link here...
