Thanks for the correct and level headed method for this process. I would hate
to see someone hurt themselves with the BFH in a situation where it just would
not work!

Don't hit it with anything.
The proper tool is a press. If you don't have one, a machine shop will.
Take the whole assembly to the guy who's machining the rotors and let him
press the hub out of the rotor.
