I think the key is to have a spare alt in the trunk. Quick change and keep on 
going. Now with the one wire alt you have to be sure all your wiring is good 
enough to handle it, right? Well, I don't think having a spare harness in the 
trunk is the way to go

 Yea, but Matt's luck is spreading.....

I got my Roadster together in time for the Mitty, but other obligations
stood in the way.  So, I was driving my Roadster and my alternator quit!
I noticed my amp gage on the negative side of its world.  If I would
have taken off to the Mitty, Matt would have had good "return" company.

Now - repair original or one-wire... That is the question....

I'd say the glass is 1/2 full because you didn't fry your whole harness!
Wow, most people don't get away with that much....you be lucky.LOL

Good that you figured out that the wiring thing was the root of your
problem, but have you ever heard the famous definition of insanity?
Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different
result...  ;^)
