I was looking for some way to stop the rattles when I wondered if a spacer
worked in the center, what would spacers on the sides do.  For me they did
wonders, but they are thinner than the center spacer.

Mine has always had the 1/4" spacer in the centre clamp.  Did one of you say
t the side clamps have a spacer too?  I may have to try to manipulate the
washers again to see if I can get the centre clamp guide to line up better.
