not sure about everybody else's floor jack, but mine is designed to roll
forward as it lifts--great in the garage, bad in the mud and snow. For an
emergency jack my preference is for something that lifts straight up. Of
course this is the advice from a guy who was about to use the original
Datsun jack as his emergency jack.
