I drilled and tapped into the front of the head, near where it was already,
for an aftermarket 1/8 NPT sender. in the attached picture you can see the
hole between the thermostat and the top hose on the water pump.
Oh yeah, you can also see the GM temp sensor for the efi system to the left
of the thermostat (brass, pink, beige body,.......yellow and black wires
hanging down....
Both sensors have lots of clearance from other moving parts....and the
thermostat.
This is a metric aluminum head, pretty easy to drill and tap.
