I could be wrong, but I believe Road and Track did a 15.8 quarter mile with
a stock 67.5 Solex 2000 on 4 1/2 inch bias ply tires back when they were new
and said they felt they could have done a good deal better if they'd been
able to control the wheelspin going down the track. feel free to correct me
if I'm wrong, memory at 53 seems to be a more iffy thing than it used to
be...
