Steve,

If you have a problem with the prizes sent then you need to talk to the
Fresno club and Lou Smaldino.
If you really feel that I did not give or donate absolutely anything here
then next year I won't send anything. I can instead sell these parts in my shop
for the full value of $1,481.60.

First I would like to thank and congratulate the
organizers of this years Solvang Roadster Show: WELL
DONE !!! I enjoyed the show very much.
There is one thing, however that really didn't sit
well with me. At the banquet which concluded the
event, a raffle was held and many very nice prizes
were given away. There were many generous individuals
and vendors which provided the prizes announced, and
were applauded by an appreciative crowd. These
individuals are obviously a little more passionate
about the cars than someone who is only concerned with
the bottom line. There was one vendor however that it
seems has a different definition of the word
"DONATION" than the others. It turns out that Fairlady
Products of Northridge, Ca. had a lillte more
"business-like" approach. The parts " Donated" by that
vendor were in fact PURCHASED at a discount rate to be
raffled off. I was involved in organizing a fairly
large car show in Northern Ca. for several years and
I've never seen that before. I can't help but think
that this illuminates something deeper in the
personalities and philosophies of the various
contributors. Perhaps we should reflect upon who we
do business with in the future.
