Ditto. Castrol GTX in everything except my chipper which specified 
single-weight oil ONLY, and my wife's (POS) Honda, which she is 
responsible for having serviced.

I switched to Castrol GTX in the mid 70's (my VW era) on the 
recommendation of a chief mechanic in a VW dealership. He told 
everyone to use GTX because it didn't break down under extreme 
temperatures... a real problem with air cooled VWs.
