You can probably retrofit and get to run, but not to pass emissions in
CA. I read an article about a guy who retrofit a 350 into a 280zx.
Part of the reasoning for his choice of a '79 280zx is because a
similar-year Chevy 350 had a non-computer controlled carburetor, which
made it easier to retrofit than if he used a later engine.
