There has been an overwhelming amount of interest in this engine. I
received about a dozen or so emails from interested parties. I have
determined that it is probably NOT a 67 2000 motor. I pulled the serial
number last night (U20-08867). I do not know where that serial number
places it in the hierarchy of roadster-isms and or desirability so I have
decided to just place the engine on EBay as I am unclear on what to ask for
it.
My EBay ID is in_structor so if you are interested, please make a bid. I
will start it out low with no reserve. I can hold the engine until December
1st if necessary as I am in the middle of the country and realize that
pickup will require a scheduled road trip for most people. The engine is
mostly as pulled and includes the distributor but no carburetors.
I will post it tonight after I can grab a picture of it.
Thanks to all those who answered my queries on what I had lurking under my
tarp!
"I have, in my back yard under a tarp, a nearly complete 2000 block; I could
pull the number if needed to id it's manufacture date. I have pulled the SU
carburetors as I would like to use them as credit towards a new set with Z
therapy but otherwise it is complete. I am looking for someone who might
have an interest in purchasing this engine. I purchased it along with a 67
parts car and some of the other components in the deal were from a 67.5 2000
and this engine could fall into that category. I can verify that I can spin
the flywheel by hand without it catching and the engine does not appear to
have blown anything or ever been separated block from head. Please save
this engine from eventual joining the shell at the scrapper.
I live in the Kansas City area just off I 70. I don't think shipping is
real option so plan on a local area pickup."
