Michael,
Make sure you have a little slack in the throttle cable. The housing
grows with heat. Hose down the linkages with carb cleaner then spray with
silicone spray (not WD-40). With it idling spray a little carb cleaner on the
throttle shaft bushings. If the idle makes a significant change you are having
throttle shaft leakage. Check that you have both carb throttle return springs.
