Hi list, a U20 factory competition head is about to be put onto ebay,
but will be offered to this list first. Lou Mondello of Australian
roadster fame has had this item for quite some time. It is full
thickness ie never machined. It comes with a matching intake manifold
for solexs as the standard manifold will not fit. It also comes with a
factory cam that is neither A or B. Maybe a C?? Included is a set of
special valves as the standard U20 valves do not fit. This head was
owned by the Australian datsun racing team in 1968. Factory Datsun
roadsters were always faster than any other roadsters in Australia, and
when you see this head you will understand why. This head was supposed
to be "disposed" of after the end of the roadsters racing life..... Did
Datsun cheat??? Anyway, the head has surfaced again and would really
bring a U20 to a new level of performance. If required a near new set
of 50mm Solexs and linkages could be included. If any one is interested
I will email photo's that very clearly show a part number on the casting
that proves its authenticity. Now for the bad news..... $$$$$ parts like
these don't come cheap any more. But when you compare $AU3000.00 with
the price of a new U20 head + cam + valves + intake manifold + valve
springs. It doesn't seem too bad. The 50mm solex's and linkages are
$AU2000.00.
