Hi List
The condensor at the distributor is for POINTS ignition only.
Usually 2 micro-farad.
I would expect Garry's instructions to explain that this is not required.
The component at the alternator and coil is a noise suppression condensor, a
different container of seafood altogether.
Does ZIP for the car except for reducing electrical noise in the ICE (In Car
Entertainment)

That's a condenser. The one on the coil aids in EFI suppression aka radio
noise suppression. Cars trying to listen to AM will appreciate the addition
of this little part. If you wish to replace it, most any auto parts store
should have one that will work. Though it's matched to the coil, the
capacitance value is not critical.
There's another one mounted on points-style distributors. That one keeps the
points from burning and pitting. Its value is more important to get right,
as the wrong value tends to not protect the points as well.

p.s. If you were wondering, resistor plug wires and resistor spark plugs
(you should use one or the other but not both) are used to reduce radio
interference.
