hello list,
i feel like i should speak up every time the
discussion turns to people, their roadsters and their
new panasport rims, and never do!
i'd love some pointers. i acquired a set of 14 inch
panasport rims from a friend. the rear wheels went on
fine on the existing wheel studs. however, on the
front wheels they are too short -- i can't screw the
lug nuts on far enough. i noticed some posts about
replacement lug bolts that are longer, someone
mentioned summitracing.com as a source, someone else
mentioned lug bolts from a corvair. anyone have the
specific part # or name, and length that will do the
trick?
also, what exactly is involved in swapping out the
current lug bolts for the longer one? is this
something i could do with the help of some friends who
are more car-savvy than i am? or is it easier to just
take the car to a wheel shop?
one other problem, the brake lines in the front were
rubbing against the inside surface of the wheel. can
i just bend the lines out of the way so they don't hit
the wheel, or is there something else i should be
aware of?
oh yes, and i'm driving a 1969 2000.
thanks for all the help!
-jessica
