roadster registry

Hello All,
 
I was just browsing on the 311s.org and Datsun.org websites , and started 
looking at the
67.5 2liter numbers.
Are there 1000 of these made? and are the numbers srl311-00001 to srl311-01000?
I noticed that on the registry some of the numbers are missing. 
Is it because we dont know where they are or they were not made in the first 
place.
