Hey all!
It's me... again! Tonights insanity includes that crazy PVC
fitting thing. I removed that hose from the fitting on the valve cover to
the air filter because I was tired of oil soaked filters. I replaced it
with a slick little air filter from O'Reilly Automotive and it looks very
cool... only now, it's oil soaked and spitting a tiny bit of oil out. I
figured it had to be air-borne oil, so I added a little filter inside the
baffles in the valve cover... did it fix it? NO! Now I am getting MORE oil
spraying out that cute little filter of mine. WHY??!?!?!
I have a '70 2000, mostly stock, 66K miles on the clock and suspect it's
actual mileage. I have that evaporative tank in the trunk and looks like
most of the plumbing is still set up (if someone knows how that is supposed
to go, I'd very much appreciate a few pointers!) Car has some great
compression, but haven't tested the leakdown in the cylinders. I don't
*think* I have an exhaust leak into the engine? The air that comes out of
that valve cover isn't all that hot and at pressure. Not sure what else
could be causing this problem though... and I'm very tired of oil all over
my engine.. who wouldn't though?
Thoughts anyone?? thanks in advance!!!!
Eric
