Take a look at the connections at the back of the switch.
If the is any discoloration on the starter wire connector or spades then
electrical part of the switch is starting to fail.

I had a similar problem with my car this past summer. It was very strange. I
had no lights or anything. Then I got my lights back but still no starter
motor power. I waited about 1/2 hour and it started right up.
My connections are excellent, battery is good, new gear reduction starter,
wiring harness in excellent shape etc. BTW, this happened to me once before
about 10 years ago and I could never figure it out then nor now.
Go figure.
