GM and Ford install some 'black boxes' to record data for evaluating their
vehicles. Unfortunately the purchaser doesn't know this. Data obtained this
way was used in a Florida case to prosecute a driver involved in an accident
which resulted in the deaths of several people. He was speeding excessively
at the time of the accident and the black box recorded the info and was
presented at trial by the district attorney.
