When did pollution controls become required in CA?
In NY pre 68 cars required nothing and there were no emission standards.
I remember when I first put my 66 on the road in 81 I failed the emission
test. I told the mechanic how can I fail if there were no emission laws in
66? He took the sniffer and attached it to a Honda and passed me.
Now I don't have to worry as all cars older than 25 yo are exempt.
