On my stroker, I used a stock 1600 head and replaced the normal wear items:
valve guides, some valves, and the intake seats that are brass. A good shop
can recommend whats needed and not. Most shops mill the head a little to get
exact flatness. Also provides better adhesion with the head gasket. I've never
seen a used 1600 head that was perfectly flat. I used a 2000 crank and had to
cut the snout by 1". I've never used a H20 crank, so they might be the proper
length for the 1600 timing cover.
