These 2 businesses say they can repair old automobile clocks or convert
them to quartz movement while maintaining the original appearance.

Seems that converting to quartz would be the way to go for better
accuracy and long life, considering the trouble to remove and replace
the clock. The original quartz clock in my '79 280ZX has been trouble
free and extremely accurate. Has anyone tried one of these companies'
services?

'70 2000, clock works, but not accurately, I disconnected it because the
winder runs constantly, discharging the battery over a few days.
