Hi Marc, This sounds great. I think you are taking on a very valuable
project. Thanks! Larry.

Subject: Re: U20 timing stuff
Well it seems the cat is out of the bag now (see last paragraph), so I
guess I should start spreading the word. I've been working on repro U20
timing parts for the last several months. I am at the prototype stage
and will soon do a short production run. I am trying to work it out so I
can sell all the components individually, but because of differences in
chain manufacture between today and back when these parts were first
made, the chains and sprockets may have to be sold as sets only. I'll
know more on that soon. These will not be cheap, because I'm not cutting
any corners, and short runs like this are not cheap. But at least the
parts will be available again. I am remanufacturing all the parts
including the guides, tensioners, etc., from scratch. So the parts will
be all new, no "refurbished" used parts. As much as possible I have kept
to the stock specs and designs, however in some cases I have deviated
from the original materials specs and had the parts made from modern,
better quality materials. I do not have firm pricing yet, nor do I have
any photos of the completed prototypes, but as soon as I do, I'll let
folks know and post the photos on my website. If you want to get your
name on the waiting list, let me know. I'll need to know what part(s)
specifically you want, and how many of each. The waiting list will not
bind you to a purchase, and will not involve any money changing hands.
It will help me determine the quantities for that initial production run.
BTW, I've already had someone try to go behind my back and place orders
directly with my subcontractors for my parts. Having been down this road
before with other parts, I anticipated this and have exclusivity
contracts with all the subcontractors, and they absolutely will not sell
you anything. If you need the parts, you'll have to talk to me.
