Stop and start all over again now:
1. Disconnect the linkage to each of the carbs and loosen the nuts on each
linkage.
2. Adjust each carb w/ the unisyn and get them evenly balanced to each
other at the rpm you want to idle at.
3. Use your colortune to adjust the mixtures now as the idle speed can
change if either carb is rich or lean. If it changes perform step 2 again.
4. reattach the linkages to each carb. If the idle speed increases then
loosen the linkage on the offending carb or if need be both of them. Leave
the nuts loose.
5. Now use the screw which adjusts the linkage bar which the throttle
cable attaches to, and start tightening it and bring up the rpms to about
1500 - 2000.
6. Adjust your unisyn and take a reading and if the carbs are unequal then
adjust to make them = by adjusting the linkages either looser or tighter.
Leave the nuts finger tight.
7. Loosen the screw and bring the rpms down to idle speed. If the idle
speed has changed then loosen the nuts and loosen both linkages and repeat
steps 5 & 6 until you get it right.
8. When everything is as it should be tighten the nuts carefully.
9. You're done
This sounds long and tedious but after a few years you'll get the hang of it
and do it quickly. Fortunately once they're set up correctly rarely will you
have to do it again for a long time.
